The biggest Appco Event of the year, the UK & Ireland Annual Convention took place in the ExCel Auditorium on Saturday the 6th of August. With around 4000 people packing out the venue, Appco Group Nederland was well represented by all Managers from around the country, selected support staff and the top Platinum Club members.
Early on Saturday morning the group set off from Schiphol for London where cars were waiting to bring them to the city center venue. With music pumping from the arena the stage was set for a day of recognition of achievements in the region over the last year. The meeting was started by the founder of the Cobra Group of companies, Chris Niarchos, setting out the amazing achievements over the past year within Appco Group. Rory O’Farrel (Managing Director, Roar Promotions, Dublin) was the first person to be invited onto the stage to receive his promotion Organisational Head. Rory was presented with a Mont Blanc watch and spoke of his journey promotion, with thanks to everyone involved.
Then the first set of awards for Sales Achievement were announced by Managing Director, Mike Blane and all the 320 prize winners took to the stage, with much applause and congratulations. Quickly followed by the Chairmans Club award, when 10 of the top Managers from the region were selected to be part of this prestigious group.
The newest Vice President of Appco, Oli Blomme then spoke to the audience on taking control of your business and the amazing success of Appco Group in Spain over the last 18 months. Leadership Achievement Awards followed, introduced by Ogo Ekweozor and Chris Rudge, the joint Country Heads of the US, and 200 ICs received these coveted medals for displaying excellence in a leadership capacity.
A quick lunch and it was back to business, with Vice President Simon Murphy introducing the awards for Sales Excellence and the Road Trip Competition Cup winning team. Dutch managers, Dennis de Graaf (Amsterdam Location), James O’Grady (Rotterdam Location) and Tim Waaldijk (Eindhoven Location) were invited on stage to receive their bonus cheques from the last year, along with all other promoting managers in the UK and Ireland.
As Chris Niarchos once again took to the podium to close the meeting, he encouraged everyone to grasp the opportunity they have with the Appco Group and to take control of their own career paths, speaking of how a small idea that he had has now created success on a global scale.
A night out in London was enjoyed by all and over breakfast the following morning the plans for Holland to be hosting an event on a similar scale was the topic of conversation.
